1st annual Betty Jacobs-Krndija fund raiser for Windsor Regional Cancer Clinic

Betty Jacobs-Krndija passing was tragic, to say the least. But her drive, her fight and her uncanny ability to make the best of a situation that “is what it is” remains legendary. Many of you might know her as the previous owner of Jacobs Footwear and Accessories in Tecumseh.
We all take comfort that Betty is in a better place, but there are many people still fighting the biggest battle of their lives. Betty was a believer of making the best of an impossible situation. She lived by the motto “everyone should feel beautiful”. She wasn’t alluding to the vain side of human nature but instead celebrating the beauty of the mind, body and spirit! A visionary right until her last days, she talked of raising enough money to revamp the whole cancer treatment experience. She envisioned massages for inpatients and comfortable chairs to soothe the discomfort related to the inevitable long waits for treatment. She dreamed of a tranquil environment to ease the overwhelming feeling of powerlessness over the disease that too often becomes the patient’s identity. Her passion was to create a sanctuary where patients could feel the strength to face their fears and diminish uncertainty. It is with these goals in mind that we endeavor to raise the funds to see her vision through. We invite those who loved her, or those who would have loved her to join us it the first of many fundraisers in her memory.
