In November 2009, Brad Byrne ran for seven hours, covering 62 kilometres, from the Lakeshore Community Food Bank in Belle River to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre in Windsor, and back again, in honour of his Father Joe Byrne, who lost his short battle with cancer the year before.
Since that first year, a team of dedicated volunteers and run participants have raised an incredible $48,000 for the Cancer Centre Foundation’s Seeds4Hope program. Brad believes strongly that research is the key to any advances that will be made in the fight against cancer.
The run has also collected over $2,750 and 20,000 cans of food for the Lakeshore Community Food Bank – a charity Joe Byrne was very involved in.
Brad, his Family and Friends have committed to making Jog4Joe an annual event to raise much need funds for the Cancer Centre Foundation’s Seeds4Hope Program and the Lakeshore Community Food Bank.
