VOTE TO HELP HOMELESS ANIMALS IN OUR COMMUNITY

Posted March 18, 2011 @ 12:00PM

Give Windsor $25K to help homeless cats. All you have to do is click!

Pepsi is offering $25K to individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations with ideas that will have a positive impact on communities.
In the running during this cycle of giving is a number of programs and organizations that want to put the money towards helping suffering homeless cats in our local community, and to provide funding for spay and neuter clinics that will reduce our city’s homeless and feral cat population.

You can vote for 10 different causes per day until April 30 so please keep the following in Mind:

Earn Your Wings (25K):This project will benefit Windsor and surrounding areas that have been overrun with feral and stray cats which are breeding at an incredible rate. Cats will also receive medical attention which will benefit people’s indoor/outdoor cats as well in disease control, flea and worm prevention as well as educating the public about feral cats. Also rat and disease control: http://www.refresheverything.ca/38506thconcessionwindsorontariocanada

John Higgins (25K): In Windsor, there are many homeless and feral cats that are in need of medical treatment. Although there are many people who feed these cats, they cannot afford to take them to the vet when if they run into problems. Therefore, many of the cats unfortunately die or live in pain. These funds would allow people who are taking care of homeless cats who to seek medical help to care for the suffering animals: http://www.refresheverything.ca/helppayformedicalexpensesforhomelesscatsinwindsor

Windsor’s TLC Animal Aid (25K):Its "Friends of Ferals" project will help spay/neuter 100 free-roaming cats in an effort to help deal with the problem of overpopulation of cats in the city. This is a humane solution for the animals and fosters compassion in neighbourhoods and communities: http://www.refresheverything.ca/tlcanimalaid

For the Love of Grace Spay/Neuter Program (10K): It is estimated, there are 30,000 feral cats in Windsor Ontario. This program’s goal is to help these cats who face hardships on the street, by a trap, neuter & release program. They would also like to work to find homes for strays that are tame and socialized, but who have been abandoned and provide basic vaccinations to colony cats: http://www.refresheverything.ca/fortheloveofgracespayneuterprogram

C.A.T. Cat Assistance Team (10K): This project’s goal is to spay/neuter 200 known feral cats in Amherstburg and to provide food and shelter for over 7 feral cat colonies: http://www.refresheverything.ca/happycats

Kelly Taylor (5K): This fund is to help build shelters and supply food for feral cats by giving these supplies to those who care for them. Doing so will result in less cats roaming the streets of Windsor, tearing into garbage or digging in people's yards. All of this will increase the enjoyment of people's property and will help the city's image and tourism business: http://www.refresheverything.ca/feralcatshelter

Use the rest of your votes for other great programs that help animals in Ontario and across Canada. Taking a few moments to click will help save the lives of suffering animals.
