Start spreadin’ the news, Windsor’s newest downtown bar, the Rockefeller Lounge (RockefellerLounge.com)is now open at 552 Ouellette Avenue. Te extensively renovated bar features a chic New York style and is owned by Christian Pinard, Trevor Pare, Matt Hardy and Ryan Croppo. When asked why they decided to open up in downtown Windsor, Pinard replies, “Myself, Trevor and Matt have worked at various bars in the downtown area (Sidebar, Voodoo, Bull N’ Barrel, Revival, Boom Boom Room, Level 3 and Te City Grill) and we felt that we had a good understanding of the market.” Te trio then hooked up with Croppo and Rockefeller came to life PREMIUM CASUAL DINING in the building previous housing Tabu Nightclub. Te menu at the lounge is a fusion of a Tapas and Gastro Pub style cuisine. Photos by Rod Denis. “It is a very American Modern fusion, where we take the mundane and put our own signature twist on it, ” explains Pinard. “From feta stufed lamb meatballs, our Butchers Burger, Bang Bang Shrimp, Quinoa Duck, burger patties, various dipping sauces (including our in-house ketchup), hand-cut fries and daily soup specials – everything is made from scratch, fresh, and prepared in house.
