Tour Guide Sarah Krahn poured a glass of Pelee Island Winery’s Singing Moon Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot for one thirsty photographer! 15. Armando’s received “The Critic’s Choice Best Restaurant” Award and second place for the “People’s Choice” Award, with both honours accepted by Executive Chef Marco Malizia. Chef Johnny Oran of Rochester Place Resort – Parkside Grille, was also a double winner, earning frst place for “The People’s Choice Award” and the award for “Critic’s Choice Best Hospitality Epicurean.” Oran and his team enticed the crowds with a General Tso Pulled Pork Fritter, Pimento Cheese and Edamame Salad. 17. In the end everyone wins in this battle as over $40,000 was raised for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex – a signifcantly higher amount than 2013. The event hosted over 500 guests and 21 food and beverage participants, a few pictured here with (top row) MCs Arms Bumanlag and Christie Bezaire from CTV and Hayley Morgan of the charity. All the funds raised through this event stay in Windsor & Essex County and will support the fve youth mentoring programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex. These programs support youth, families and adult volunteers in mentoring relationships where youth gain life experience and achieve personal growth.
